Negoto – Lightdentity

Music: Masuda Mizuki & Aoyama Sachiko
Lyrics: Aoyama Sachiko & Negoto
Translation: Kafka

I long to see the future at any cost
The seconds hand’s[1] sound creates an arc
Saying it’s 2 am

For some reason, I felt it will turn out well
My confidence, it’s fleeting
Unaware at times, I noticed
That this glory is empty

The animated scenes, the ever moving clocks
Sever interceptors with your hand
It’s still never-ending, Until this delusion
Turns to a subsequent light

The seconds hand of the clock is being engraved
To the lengthening line of the past
Refraining from going back and forth
For us to urge on to the present, move on

Solitude, Scattered Hearts
Once more, pile them up
Into a genuine glory we yearned for
So let’s go and attain it

Flickered Passions, Sparkled Fates
Shoot the darkness and the future with your hand
This doubt, don’t hesitate anymore
Certainly, the light is shining

Tick Tick, Time
Tick Tack, it’s going around
Ten Thousand times ahead of the seconds hand
Tick Tick, Someday
The burnt and stuck present
Will become tender right?

[1] – 秒針(byoushinn) means the seconds HAND of the clock.

Kanji:

Lightdentity

*easily became a favorite of mine when I first heard this song. Sachiko’s voice is affectionately emotional and all ever-concerned. Drums is so tight and technical, guitar creates a unique texture and the bass makes the song delve into deep emotional ambiance.
