Negoto – Tanabata

Song: Masuda Mizuki, Aoyama Sachiko
Lyrics: Aoyama Sachiko
Translator: Kafka

Above the head of the UFO sparkles
Sounds of the siren rains upon the city
Some people are escaping on TV
Alarming at the crack of dusk

My inter-cerebral lamp is already flickering
Telecommunications connects to a black hole
Their voice calling are ticklish
We, somewhat didn’t mean to sneeze

Shout out an SOS!
Please some hear us!
Jump upon the UFO
Access Future

Teach us our future since We already forgot about yesterday

Hey, if you make that such a sad face
Everything will be stolen from you! and that’s so dangerous!

I’m hearing an SOS
Someone is calling me
Let’s jump on the UFO
Access Future

Teach us our future since I hardly know what’s beyond tomorrow
Soon we’ll become a burned out star, so lets go until our distorted romance ends

Japanese Lyrics:

UFO atama no ue pikapika
sairen no oto ga machi ni futteku
terebi ha nigeru hito wo utsushite
yoru no sukima wo sawagasatteru

nounai ranpu ha mou chika chika
koushin tsunagete buraku hooru
yatsura no yobu koe ga kusuguttakure
boku ha, nandaka omowazu kushami wo shitanda

SOS wo sakebou

UFO ni tobinoretara

bokura no mirai wo oshiete kinou no koto ha mou wasurechau kara

sonna ni kanashii kao shiteru to nee
subete wo nusumareru zo! chou kiken!

SOS ga kikoete
dareka ga boku wo yondeiru
UFO ni tobinotteikou

bokura no mirai wo oshiete ashita no koto nado wakarani sa
itsuka ha moetsukite hoshi ni naru no ibitsu na romance no hate made ikou

*note: Tanabata (七夕, meaning “Evening of the seventh”) is a Japanese star festival, originating from the Chinese Qixi Festival. It celebrates the meeting of the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi (represented by the stars Vega and Altair respectively). According to legend, the Milky Way separates these lovers, and they are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the lunisolar calendar. The date of Tanabata varies by region of the country, but the first festivities begin on July 7 of the Gregorian calendar. The celebration is held at various days between July and August.

**quite a lively song and a good song to perform live cuz it livens up the audience and sings along.. that’s what they said about this song. I guess, what she is trying to portray in the lyrics that a UFO appeared and somehow found a way to communicate with them hence the words and questions in the lyrics and that she wants to be abducted by an UFO. ^^
